Craft, Pyrex and Dolly Pegs

On Monday my little boy turned 2. We went to the Zoo to celebrate, we had a group of 17 adults and 16 children! It was a little manic and me and my husband were up at 6:30am making a picnic lunch for everyone! It was a lot of fun and amazing to see my little boy having the best day ever with all his cousins and friends.
I decided to personalise a t-shirt for his birthday. I went for an American look with a baseball top and then added a J for Jake at the front and a 2 on the back in a red fabric with red stars. Here is the result:
It's easy enough to personalise things to make them a little bit more special and individual, let me know if you need help to do something like this yourself. I bought the t-shirt from Humbugz on Amazon, it was great quality.
This is my second piece of Pyrex loveliness! It's such a cute little dish that I am keeping jewellery bits in. The pattern is so pretty. Thank you to my friend Tracey for this lovely birthday present. Tracey also gave me some of these very sweet dolly pegs, these are available to buy from her facebook shop here:
I found out yesterday I have been nominated for a Best Home Blog on the MADS 2012. I will let you know more information about that once I have checked it all out. Looks like exciting stuff!
I hope you all have lovely weekend plans. I am off to a wedding which I am really looking forward to, I do love a wedding!! I also have very exciting news on the blog next week! All will be revealed....

Wednesday 18 April 2012

A rainy Wednesday....

What a miserable day. I am stuck indoors with my little boy who is getting more bored by the minute, anyway it's nearly dinner time and he always likes to help me cook.

Yesterday afternoon I took a few photos of some new bits and pieces, here they are...

I bought these for a few quid in a charity shop, I really like the shape and colour and might look for some nice candles to go in them.
A very nice friend of mine Ruby bought me these for my birthday on Monday.
I absolutely love these drawer handles, I have been looking for some handles for a long time, I had some plain round brass handles on the drawers (see here) which my mum bought me when I was 10 years old and when I got older I always took these drawers with me wherever I lived, I have always wanted to find some handles that were just right. I spotted these in the shop at Snape Maltings and knew they would look perfect.

Vintage Market - April 2012

It's been a very lovely, relaxing weekend here. Lots of family time and food! This is what I was doing this afternoon:
On Saturday I went to the Vintage Market at Woodbridge, it seemed to be a very popular event with a great atmosphere despite the weather! I had a good look around all the stalls at the lovely vintage crockery, linen, glass, jewellery, picnic baskets, teapots, suitcases and gorgeous clothes. There were lots of stalls selling handmade gifts too. I loved the beautiful handmade candles that smelt amazing by Sweet.P. I also thought the scarfs made by Chirpy Vintage were a great idea, they were made with upcycled vintage fabrics combined with new fabrics creating something individual. They can even create one made just for you if you have a special piece of fabric in mind. Click here to email for more details.
So many patterns and colours to inspire and real finds to be picked up.
I really liked this cute sewing box:
I managed to pick up a few things, this lovely 70's serving dish:
And this, well I'm not sure what to use it for yet, either a stand for post or for my spice pots. I really like the retro print and bright colours.
The next vintage market at Woodbridge takes place on Saturday 7th July. Take a look at the Deben Events website for more details.

Please let me know about any vintage markets you have visited recently.
